Best Astronomy Craft Ever

We are studying astronomy this year.  Actually, we were, then we weren’t and now we are again.  I won’t bore you with the details.  Instead, I will wow you with the sweetest astronomy craft/activity ever.

Uh, huh.  I was the coolest teacher/homeschooling mama at co-op the day I did this.  Every student was more than eager to learn the phases of the moon.

Oreos will do that to a person.

If you are studying astronomy, or the moon, or Oreos, or you just want to rock the socks off of your kiddos, I highly suggest this super easy activity.

It helped to have some icing (or peanut butter if you want to be healthy, but… ya’ know… Oreos aren’t on the healthy list) to dab underneath each Oreo after completing the icing/phase part, so the cookie didn’t slide around the plate.

This wasn’t as awesome as  our NASA field trip, but it was tons cheaper.  😉

Happy learning/eating!
